Gmail, Outlook and Apple Mail don’t have a box for HTML code. They take a signature you copy from a page and paste in, and the builder copies it the right way for that. The HTML file is for everything else: signature tools, help desk apps, or keeping a backup.
Gmail won’t save signatures over 10,000 characters. The builder shows your signature’s size as you go and warns you before you reach Gmail’s limit. Fields you leave empty are left out of the code entirely.
Signatures have a transparent background by default, so they blend in when an email app switches to dark colors. If pictures are blocked, icons fall back to words. Prefer no pictures at all? Choose Letters labels (P, M, E, W) for a signature that’s plain text.
